The connection preferences can be accessed from: Window >
+Preferences. In the Preferences dialog list, select Carbide Extensions
+> TraceViewer > Connection. The Connection page opens to right
+side of the dialog.

In Use connection, select an existing connection to use and click
+ OK, or click New... to create a new connection or
+ Edit... to edit an existing one. Follow the next steps if you
+ selected to create a new connection or to edit an existing one.
+
NOTE For USB tracing connection, you must have the
+ TraceSwitch application installed in your device. You must also have
+ connectivity software such as Nokia PC Suite installed in your PC.
+
+
In Connection type, select a connection method:
+
+
PlatSim if you are using a PlatSim connection between the PC
+ and the target device.
+
TCP/IP Musti if you are using an XTI connection between the PC
+ and the target device.
+
USB if you are using a USB cable connection between the PC and
+ the target device.
+
+
+
+
+
In Connection name, enter a unique name for this connection.
+
Modify the connection settings:
+

For PlatSim: Define Platsim location and Instance
+
+
+
ForTCP/IP Musti: define the IP address, Musti
+ channel and Port.
+
+
+
For USB: define the serial port used for USB connection on
+ your PC. To find out the port:
+
+
Connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable and the Nokia PC
+ Suite application.
+
(Optional) If you connect for the first time, install the
+ necessary drivers to your phone.
+
In Windows, check the correct serial port from the
+ Device Manager in the Control Panel. Select Ports
+ (COM & LPT), and locate an item similar to Series 60
+ Nokia S60 Phone USB (COMX), where X means the port to connect
+ to.
+

Click Finish to save and exit.
+
(Optional) A connections can be set as the "Current connection" from
+ either the Remote Connection view or the "Current connection" Trim widget.
+ When you connect a device through USB, dynamic connections are created
+ automatically. If you want to automatically connect to the dynamic
+ connection that is set as “Current connection”, you should
+ check the Auto connect to dynamic connections checkbox in the
+ Connection page of the Preferences dialog. For auto connect, you also need
+ to have "Current connection" selected as the main connection for
+ TraceViewer in the Preferences dialog.
+
(Optional) Use the Test Connection tab of the New
+ Connection dialog to make sure that the connection works. For more
