Activating traces

Before you start

Trace activation is a way of generating specific trace data that +is relevant for your components. This reduces the amount of traces listed +on the TraceViewer user interface. For more information, see +Dictionary file and trace activation.

Before you can activate trace components and groups, open the Dictionary file +(.xml) that contains the necessary component and group information. +See Decoding binary traces with a Dictionary file.

To activate traces:

  1. From the TraceViewer menu, select Trace Activation.

    +The Trace activation dialog is displayed, showing the components and +groups loaded from the Dictionary file.
