5 Product Description: |

7 Carbide.v is a PC-hosted tool providing front-end for managing S60 terminals |
|
8 variant settings. It allows reading, editing and writing all customizations |
|
9 and resources in the form of a CPF file. Carbide.v is intended to achieve |
|
10 better quality and time-to-market of variant customization by providing rich |
|
11 UI for customizing settings, WYSIWYG preview of branded resources and data |
|
12 validation. |

14 Other key enablers in new configurability approach are Configuration ML |
|
15 (ConfML) and CPF format. ConfML is an XML-based language for defining, |
|
16 describing and specifying software settings of a phone variant. It allows |
|
17 exporting feature settings, applying values and validating correctness of |
|
18 the configurations. |

20 CPF is a file format for storing ConfML data and customizable resources |
|
21 (media, files, etc) in a form of one file, providing means for logical |
|
22 grouping of features and settings, history and descriptions of the variant. |
