<h2>Carbide.c++ News view</h2>
<p>The <b>Carbide.c++ News</b> view appears whenever you launch Carbide to provide the latest Carbide, Symbian, and S60 news as well as updates and screencasts for Carbide development. This view can be reduced but still visible in the <a href="../concepts/CarbidePerspective.html">Carbide C/C++ perspective</a> for easy access.</p>

<p>When the view is closed, it shrinks to a small tab item in the lower-left corner of the perspective. Click the RSS feed icon to re-open the <b>Carbide.c++ News</b> view.</p>

<td><b>News Feeds</b></td>
<td><p>Displays the list of RSS feeds available for viewing in the <b>News Contents</b> pane. The number after the RSS feed indicates the number of posts available to read. Within the list you can:</p>
<ul>
<li>Click <b>All News</b> to view a time sorted list of all the RSS feeds combined. </li>
<li>Click an individual title to view news items from a specific RSS feed.</li>

<td><b>Getting Started</b></td>
<td>Displays a list of tutorials and screencasts that provide assistance and information on using Carbide for development. Click on a title to open it in the <b>News Contents</b> pane for viewing.</td>

<td><b>News Contents</b></td>
<td><p>Displays a list of RSS feed items based on the selection in the <b>News Feeds</b> list. Within this pane you can:</p>
<ul>
<li>Click on a news item link to view the content in its entirety either within a browser view. </li>
<li>Click the <b>Mark All Read</b> option to set all current visible news articles to read status, effectively hiding them from view</li>
<li>Click the <b>All Items</b> option to unhide all hidden news items in the list. <b>All Items</b> is then replaced by the <b>Unread Items Only</b> option.</li>
<li>Click the <b>Preferences </b> option to open the Carbide.c++ News preference panel.</li>
<li>Click the <b>Update</b> option to refresh the news list with the latest feeds.</li>
<li>Click the <b>Mark Read</b> option that appears at the end of a news article to remove the article from the list.</li>

<td>Enable to always show the <b>Carbide.c++ News</b> view when Carbide is launched. Recommended to ensure you are kept aware of the latest Carbide news and related information. Disable to not show the page on launch.</td>
