Protocol modules are plugged into the client. The client uses protocol modules to supply protocol-specific parameters to the Secure Socket API functions. </p> <p>The <filepath>ssl.dll</filepath> plug-in supports the Transport Layer Security (TLS) v1.0 and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) v3.0. The protocols use the socket methods to pass data between a client and a server.
