<concept xml:lang="en" id="GUID-A837DD3A-5C9B-5542-9A9F-8F1525E73E53"><title>Overview</title><prolog><metadata><keywords/></metadata></prolog><conbody><p>The System State Monitor API provides system services such as monitoring the system state and monitoring Service Network Access Point (SNAP) availability. <b>Note</b>: Symbian v9.5 does not provide APIs for the following system services that the Symbian SIP implementation is using. The following system services are implemented as a SIP System State Monitor ECOM plug-in by each Symbian licensee: </p> <ul><li id="GUID-C7E0AF74-42D2-5072-A062-7066EF7F899B"><p>Monitoring the system state - SIP must detect when the system is started before it starts to initiate the network connections. SIP must enable the system shutdown event to deregister the SIP profiles that are registered when the device is turned off. </p> </li> <li id="GUID-E3E329FE-0BA2-5A91-ADA1-1EF61BE21A27"><p>Monitoring SNAP availability - SIP must monitor the availability of a SNAP before starting a SNAP using <codeph>RConnection::Start</codeph>. </p> </li> </ul> </conbody></concept>
