Cellular Baseband Services Guide
Cellular Baseband Services provide a common interface to telephony services for applications and higher level platform components. The framework is independent of the underlying network services.
- Quick Start
Cellular Baseband Services provides the framework that allows applications to access the phone's telephony functions and allows handset manufacturers to implement support for their telephony hardware. The components of the Cellular Baseband Services support the standards defined for the GSM, GPRS, EDGE and UMTS networks. Cellular Baseband Services works with the Communications Framework to provide the telephony functions.
- Technology
This section describes the telephony technologies supported by the cellular baseband services module.
- SMS Protocols
This section describes the components related to the SMS protocols.
- Telephony Server
- Telephony Server Plug-ins
Telephony server plug-ins translate modem messages into Symbian platform types. Symbian platform provides interfaces which must be implemented in the TSY for effective communication between the modem and Symbian platform. This section describes the telephony server plug-ins (TSYs).
- Telephony Utilities
The Telephony Utilities is a collection of components that provides small utility libraries related to telephony. The collection also includes the component that implements the telephony API for applications.
- BCA2
This section describes the BCA2 (Baseband Channel Adaptation 2) API.
