Networking Services Guide

Networking Services provides a standard framework for accessing network services and actual implementations of network protocols. The components of the Networking Services are closely related to the framework provided by the Communications Framework module.

  This collection contains plugins which implement the Control plane part of a Network Layer protocol. These include the Connection Provider and Sub-connection Providers for the Quality of Service protocol and the Internet Protocol.
• Network Protocols
  This collection is a set of plugins to the Sockets Server. The plugins implement network protocols. The network protcocols can be accessed through a sockets type interface.

  This section describes test and developer utilities for networking.
• PPP Compression Plugins
  The Point-to-Point Protocol Compression Plugins are loaded by the Point-to-Point Protocol component during negotiation of the link.
• TCP/IP Utilities
  This section describes the TCP/IP Utilities collection of components, which provides libraries used by TCP/IPv4/v6 PRT for the DNS and DHCP protocols.
