Location Request Management Overview

This document describes the Location Request Management collection.

Purpose

The Location Request Management collection contains components for handling location requests from installed applications and from the network.

The collection contains the Location Server component that handles location requests from installed applications and the Network Request Handler component that handles location requests from the network.

Architecture

Figure 1 shows this collection within the context of the LBS system model.

Description

The components in this collection support location request management on behalf of client applications that may be installed on the device or remotely across the network.

Components

  • Location Server

    The Location Server manages location requests from installed applications.

    The Location Server uses the A-GPS Location Manager and Network Location Manager components of the Location Management collection to process the location requests.

  • Network Request Handler

    The Network Request Handler manages location requests from the network.

    The Network Request Handler uses the A-GPS Location Manager component of the Location Management collection to process the location requests.
